News From Our Officers
Minister of Arts & Sciences:
Greetings, Endless Hills!
Do you like cooking? How about knitting, or embroidery? Maybe singing and composing, playing an instrument, or dancing are more to your liking? Or do you have an interest in woodworking, or leather-working, or the smithy’s arts? Glass work, masonry, herb gardening or husbandry; if a handicraft, art form, or field of study existed before 1600, chances are excellent it falls within the scope of the Society’s Arts & Sciences.
While anyone is welcome to work on Arts & Science projects at weekly practices, I hope to implement semi-monthly “A&S Gatherings” which will include more formal classes on various A&S topics. Announcements for Gatherings will be posted to the Barony Discord and Facebook Page, as they become solidified.
If you need a bit of help with an A&S project, or if there’s a topic you’d like to learn more about, feel free to reach out to me!
Yours in Service,
Angharad verch Morgan ap Morgan (called Morgan,) Barony Minister of Arts and Sciences
Heavy Marshal:
On January 18, 2026, fighters from across far and wide did not let snow stop their quest to the heavy practice within the vast barony of Endless Hills. Thanks to the coordination of Sir Lotharius qui et Segimundus, Sir Aaron the Swift and Baroness Abaigh Róisín, more than 25 heavy fighters were able to meet to share advice, laughter, and a whole lot of fighting. In addition to the fighters, there were talented A&S crafters enjoying the lively atmosphere while working on their latest project.
When it was time to meet, the arrivals were prompt and full of excitement to get into gear, or set up the latest project. It was not long until the space was brimming with attendants, as this practice saw more than thirty people overall. It didn’t take long for the sound of rattan hitting metal to echo throughout, but conversations also buzzed in the air from those waiting for a spot to fight a sparring buddy or those chitchatting while working on the current fiber arts craft they’d chosen to face that day.
The allotted time flew by, as it does when one is having fun. Fighters, while exhausted, geared down and packed up with a smile on their face. Those working on projects had gotten a bit further with assistance of friends, along with feeling the joy of time well spent. It was so fun in fact, some fighters had to be reminded it was time to go face their next battle; the venture back home. If you’re curious at trying your hand against our heavy fighters, search for further information about Baronial practices.
Until next time, which many eagerly await,
Celestina Soler de Albarracín, Chronicler Deputy
Captain of Rapier:
Greetings from Baroness Kolfinna, donning my Captain of Rapier hat! It’s a brilliant year off to a wonderful start for our fencing community! We brought in the new year with our annual New Year’s Resolutions and had roughly 20 fencers and another 10-15 people show for the day. There was much rejoicing and way too much food (never a bad thing!). We have also continued our monthly tournaments at steel therapy, with January’s tournaments being run by Master Po and won by Lady Deirdre of ACG, who will be the marshal in charge of next month’s episode! With the weather being as unpredictable as ever, we recommend anyone coming out to practice either reach out to myself, Master Po or check the Baronial Facebook page for updates the day of practice!
Exchequer:
Enclosed is the comparative balance statement for 1/1/2025 until 12/31/2025. It is important to share with barony members where the Endless Hills starts and ends in a year. A clean slate is the best place to start. As discussed with the financial committee composed of our seneschal, exchequer, chronicler, herald, and baronesses, we planned out our 2026 Endless Hills Barony budget that was then brought up at our January meeting. Enclosed is our approved budget for the 2026 year.
Any questions, please feel free to contact our exchequer or seneschal.
Exchequer: Baroness Euriol of Lothian at exchequer@endlesshills.aethelmearc.org
Seneschal: Duchess Rioghnach ni Rose at seneschal@endlesshills.aethelmearc.org
Youth Combat Minister:
The SCA is a family oriented society. We have youth archery, fencing, and heavy fighting. Youths are also welcome to assist with A&S activities. Many of our members have grown up in the society learning history, culture, life skills, communication, and leadership skills. All youth activities are overseen by members who have gone through several layers of background checks to ensure safety for the children. Youth, whether martial or not, are the future of our great society. If we don’t bring in the youth today, we will not be here tomorrow. Youth fencing is run every Monday at Heavy practice and can also happen at Tuesday fencing practice.
Lord Daven Mackeannaugh, Baronial Youth Combat Minister, Kingdom Youth Fencing Marshal

Ædult Swim
On Feb. 14, 2026, more than 400 scadians traveled to the Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog to siege the Johnstown Galleria. No matter if you enjoy heavy or rapier, there were many options to fill up one’s time. Many intricate wares to browse, brought by vendors displaying only the best options for eager eyes. If knowledge was what you sought, a variety of classes taught by skilled individuals whom kindly took their time to share their expertise. Thank you to all that made it happen; looking forward to next year already, hoping to see familiar and new faces alike.
Feast of the Seven Deadlies
Baroness Abaigh Róisín an Ceardaí was elevated into the Order of the Pelican on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026. Her talent, skill, and service to the Kingdom of Aethelmearc goes above and beyond, and is much deserved. Vivat!
Her scroll was also noteworthy material. Collaborated on by members of the Barony: Angharad verch Morgan ap Morgan & Duke Murdoch Bayne. Well done to both of you!

- New Business
- Baroness Refna shared that the Lions Club sponsors a Halloween Parade in White Haven, PA (which is near our southern border). If there is interest in participating this year to do some outreach in that area, she will get more information. Interest was expressed so Her Excellency will get more info for the next meeting.
- Mistress Euriol asked about having calendar invites attached to the meeting so folks didn’t have to seek out the meeting info on social media. Rioghnach will send out meeting info to officers (who can then add the meeting to their calendar, if so desired). This may not be an option for the non-officers and public.

Closing Chronicler Remarks
Greetings, I sincerely hope your year is starting off great! I found this quote from Marcus Aurelius, a Roman Emperor from 161 AD to 180 AD that I wanted to share with you. “The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.”
Some might think our SCA journey tends to be affected by what other people think, what they will say if you do mess up. But I’d like to remind you that other people’s opinions don’t matter. Your journey is your journey, believe in yourself and have happy thoughts. Your SCA journey is yours, and nobody else’s. Embrace every moment and enjoy the ride.
