Order of the Barnacle
This was awarded to “children that exhibited talents or service of a level beyond their years” and was created by Baron Tigranes on January 23, 1999 (AS 33). The Principal of the Order is Elizabeth nic Ghille Brighde.
In period, a pair of barnacles is a pincer to be clamped on an unruly horse’s nose, sometimes used as an instrument of torture. This Order was retired and closed as of May 12, 2018 (AS 53) and replaced by the Order of the Sparks.
